The Epic League team is made up of top game developers who have created world-leading games such as Lineage 2M, Marvel Future Revolution, Marvel Future Fight, and BTS Universe Story and blockchain experts. Ji-hyung Lee, a cover artist for Marvel and DC Comics, participated as art director. In addition, Young-hoon Baek, former COO of Netmarble, and Thomas Vu, former chief creative officer and current Sandbox advisor, participated as advisors.
Evan Spytma, CEO of YGGSEA said, “We got early access to play Dark Throne, the first Epic League game. Although still in the pre-alpha stage, it has received a warm welcome from our team and definitely has the potential to become “epic”. We also love how Epic League supports the YGGSEA community by providing a guild-friendly management system through the Epic League platform. Dark Throne is a must-play game in 2022.”
Former Riot Games Chief Creative Officer and current Sandbox Advisor Thomas Vu said, “As a game creator for over two decades, I see more and more game developers getting into blockchain. The Epic League team is one of the most successful teams I’ve encountered entering this space, averaging over 15 years of game development experience and the number of global hits they have produced.
Epic League may seem like it’s aiming high. Two games are due out in 2022. And the first game of two, Dark Throne, and the platform that supports its ecosystem will launch in the first half of this year.
“The entire ecosystem we are building is entirely for our players and our community,” said Jay Kim, Executive Director of Epic League. “By providing well-designed games and providing an innovative and stable platform that supports players, guild managers, and community managers, we would like to lead the P2E industry.
YGGSEA, the first sub-DAO of YGG, which is already experiencing rapid growth in the Southeast Asian region, seems to have noticed the potential of the Epic League with WeMade, GBIC, IVC and other investors in seeds. That alone seems worth monitoring their progress.
